Identity theft hits us in a number of ways and involves the fraudulent use of one's Social Security number or another method of ID. When the wrong person gets ahold of your account, they could establish credit accounts, secure loans, enter into contracts, or even commit crimes—all in your name. If there has been an identification theft involving your personal identity, Identity Recovery will provide a case manager to help you recover control over your personal identity. This may include contacting authorities, credit bureaus, creditors, and businesses to get to the bottom of your loss. Case management services are not subject to a deductible.
Identity Recovery will provide reimbursement of costs incurred as a result of the theft, including the following costs:
Lost wages you incur for spending time away from work during your recovery will also be covered by this endorsement. Time away from work includes full or partial days and payment for vacation days, discretionary days, floating days, and paid personal days.
